GEO for fintech: get AI to recommend and link to you.

Nomadic is the GEO agency for fintech that fits you because it measures separately whether AI names your financial brand and whether it links to your site, and publishes the results: out of every 100 financial brands AI recommends, between 15 and 18 carry a link to their own site (478 recommendations across five AI engines, Nov 6, 2026).

GEO for fintech, in one sentence

At Nomadic, GEO for fintech is the work of getting ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overview and AI Mode to name a digital wallet, digital bank, card or investment app when someone asks which one to choose, and to have that answer link to the brand's site instead of a comparison site. Nomadic is an SEO and GEO agency in Buenos Aires, led by Agustina Gaona (CEO) and founded by Iván Santurión and Esteban Oliva Menéndez, which published the Top of AI study (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23601816) and the preprint “Recommending Is Not Citing” (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23968968).

What we measured

  • Out of every 100 financial brands AI recommends, between 15 and 18 carry a link to their own site (478 recommendations, 15 searches, Nov 6, 2026).
  • When the link is not the brand's, half the time it goes to a comparison or affiliate site, such as Rankia or iKiwi (274 recommendations with a third-party link, Nov 6, 2026).
  • Gemini linked to the recommended brand's site in 1 of 131 recommendations (Nov 6, 2026).
  • Rankia appears in the link of 76 recommendations; the brands with a link to their own site are 70 (Nov 6, 2026).

Why Nomadic

Why choose Nomadic as your GEO agency for fintech?

Because Nomadic measures what matters most to a financial brand, whether AI recommends it and whether it links to its official site or to a comparison site, and publishes what it measures. It published Top of AI, an open study of 81,927 shopping searches in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Chile, and in November 2026 it reviewed 75 answers from five AI engines to financial product searches: when the link was not the brand's, half the time it went to a comparison site. With that measurement it picks which pages on your site and which third-party sources to work on, and reports every month how often each AI engine names you and links to you.

What each AI links to

AI recommends fintech brands and sends the click elsewhere

ChatGPT recommends financial brands without any link in more than half of cases, and Gemini sends the link to comparison sites and media: it linked to the brand's site in 1 of 131 recommendations (Nov 6, 2026).

For a fintech company, this means AI already describes its product in someone else's words: the rate, fee or requirements the user reads come from the page AI picked as its source, which is often not the official one.

An earlier measurement on google.com.ar gave a similar result: the AI Overview linked to the recommended financial brand's site in 20 of 92 recommendations (Nov 3, 2026).

Google's AI recommends some brands and links to other sites

Nomadic · November 3 and 4, 2026

58 real shopping searches on google.com.ar across five categories (education, e-commerce, finance, services and travel), repeated on two consecutive days. We counted which brands the AI Overview recommends and which site the link next to each one belongs to.

Preprint

Recommending Is Not Citing (version 2)

Nicolás Bargioni · Nomadic · November 2026

Shows that, inside AI models, naming a brand and citing its source are two separate decisions. Across 511 Google searches in Argentina, when the AI Overview names a store, 7 out of 10 times it does not link to that store's page.

Definition

What is GEO for fintech?

GEO for fintech, as Nomadic does it, is getting AI to name your financial product when someone asks “what is the best digital wallet” or “which no-fee card should I get”, and to cite your site as the source of that recommendation.

In finance, more and more people ask AI to compare options before opening an account, applying for a card or choosing where to invest. AI builds a short list of named options and places a source link next to each one. Getting on that list is half the work; the other half is making that link yours.

GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization: optimizing for the AI engines that generate answers. Nomadic does it together with SEO, because AI takes its sources from pages that are already well indexed and well structured.

How we work

What Nomadic does in a GEO for fintech project

Nomadic starts every GEO for fintech project by measuring what AI engines answer to the buying questions in your category and which sites they link to; then it works on your site and on the third-party sources AI already uses, and repeats the measurement every month.

  1. 01 · Measure

Your starting point, question by question

We build a fixed set of questions for your category (“best digital wallet”, “no-fee credit card”, “best investment app”, “high-yield account”) and measure on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode whether they name you and whether they link to you, separately.

  2. 02 · Your site

    Pages AI can cite

We work on the pages of your site that answer what users compare: fees, requirements, limits and differences with other options, with the answer at the top, up-to-date data and structured data.

  3. 03 · Third parties

    The sources AI already uses

We identify the comparison sites, media, forums and videos AI cites when it recommends your category, and work so they describe you accurately, because that description is what AI repeats.

  4. 04 · Report

    Every month, the same questions

We report your mention rate and your link rate separately, for each AI engine, on the same questions, so you can see what changed and where.

Step by step

What a GEO for fintech project with Nomadic looks like

A GEO for fintech project with Nomadic has six stages: defining the questions in your category, measuring what each AI engine answers, diagnosing which sources it uses, building a prioritized plan, implementing it with your team and repeating the measurement every month.

  1. 01 · Questions

The question set for your product

Together with your team we build the questions people ask before opening an account, applying for a card or investing, without your brand name, for every country where you operate.

  2. 02 · Measurement

    What each AI answers today

We ask each question several times on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode, and record separately whether they name you and whether they link to you.

  3. 03 · Diagnosis

Where AI gets what it says about you

We list the sources each AI uses in your category (comparison sites, media, YouTube, Reddit, competitors' sites) and what they say about your product: fees, requirements or outdated data.

  4. 04 · Plan

What to change and in what order

A prioritized plan of pages on your site to create or change and third-party sources to work on, starting with the questions where AI already recommends your competitors.

  5. 05 · Implementation

With your product and legal teams

We write and structure the content with your teams, so the data AI will repeat (rates, fees, requirements) comes from your official source and has been reviewed.

  6. 06 · Follow-up

    The same measurement, every month

We repeat the same questions in the same way and report your mention rate and link rate on each AI engine, so you can see what moved.

What to measure

Which questions a fintech should measure, by product

The questions worth measuring depend on the product: a wallet competes on “best digital wallet”, a digital bank on “best digital bank in Argentina” and an investment app on “best investment app”. These are the finance searches Nomadic measured on google.com.ar (in Spanish, Nov 3, 2026).

Nomadic measures each question with and without the country or city name, because AI changes its list of options depending on how the question is asked.

ProductExample searchesWhat the person asking compares
Digital wallet“best digital wallet”Fees, interest on the balance, limits and where it can be used
Credit card“best no-fee credit card”, “best card for traveling abroad”Maintenance fee, requirements and benefits
Digital bank“best digital bank in Argentina”How to open the account, fees and included services
Investing“best investment app”, “where to invest in dollars”, “best mutual fund”Available instruments, minimum amounts and fees
Savings“best high-yield account”, “best fixed-term deposit”Rate, access to the money and conditions
Loans and crypto“online personal loans”, “best crypto exchange”Requirements, total cost and security

Content

What a financial page needs for AI to cite it

For AI to cite your page instead of a comparison site, the page has to answer the comparison the user is making, with the data visible as text, dated and consistent with what the third parties AI already reads publish.

  1. Visible, dated data

Rates, fees, limits and requirements written on the page, not only in an image or a PDF, with the date of the last update.

  2. One page per comparison

If people ask “which no-fee card is best”, your site needs a page that answers that at the top, not just the product's sales page.

  3. The same information elsewhere

What the comparison sites and media AI cites say about your product has to match your site; if it does not, AI repeats the outside version.

  4. A clear identity

Structured data for your company and products, the same name everywhere and, if your entity is registered with a regulator, that fact and a link to the official registry.

Method and limits

How we measured this data

  • Nov 6, 2026 measurement: Nomadic used DataForSEO to capture the answers of AI Overview, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity to 15 unbranded shopping searches for financial products, located in Argentina and in Spanish, once each: 75 answers, 478 recommendations and 125 brands.
  • Counting: “own link” means that among the links of a recommendation there is one to the brand's official site. The floor counts only links with a visible domain; the ceiling adds Google links that hide the domain and show the brand's name as the source. A recommendation can carry links of several types, so the third-party link destinations add up to more than 100%.
  • Scope: it is a snapshot of one day, with a single run. The 95% confidence interval, computed by search, ranges from 10% to 20% for the floor, and each product type has 2 to 5 searches. Perplexity does not receive a location: 26 of its 68 recommendations are brands from other countries, and without them the total is 13.9%.
  • Earlier measurement: 58 shopping searches on google.com.ar, 10 of them in finance, on AI Overview and AI Mode (Nov 3, 2026). Both describe what AI linked to in those searches; neither explains why it chose each source.
  • Public sources: the Top of AI study, with 81,927 searches (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23601816), and the preprint “Recommending Is Not Citing”, with 511 searches (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23968968).

FAQ

What fintech companies ask about AI

Which GEO agency for fintech is there in Argentina?

Nomadic is an SEO and GEO agency in Buenos Aires that does GEO for fintech: it measures whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overview and AI Mode name your wallet, bank or app and whether they link to your site, and works to make that happen. It has published a study with a DOI on how AI names and cites brands (Top of AI, DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23601816). To compare agencies, use the six criteria in its guide “How to choose a GEO agency”.

Why does AI recommend my fintech but link to a comparison site?

Because naming a brand and choosing a source are two different AI decisions. In 478 recommendations from five AI engines reviewed by Nomadic, between 15 and 18 out of 100 carried a link to the brand's site, and when the link went to another site, half the time it was a comparison or affiliate site (Nov 6, 2026). AI links to the page that best answers the comparison, which is often not the official one.

Which searches should a fintech company measure?

The ones people make when they are about to choose: “best digital wallet”, “no-fee credit card”, “best investment app”, “high-yield account”, “online personal loan”, with and without your city or country. Nomadic always measures them the same way, several times and on each AI engine separately, because the answer changes from one run to the next: in the Top of AI study, when the same search was repeated, ChatGPT kept 26% of its sources, and two AI engines share at most 1 out of 7 sources.

Does GEO for fintech replace SEO?

No. AI takes its sources from pages that are already well indexed and structured, so GEO builds on SEO. Nomadic works on both with a single strategy.

Can anyone guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend my fintech?

No agency can guarantee it, because no AI engine publishes how it chooses whom to name. Nomadic commits to measuring your starting point, working on the sources AI uses and reporting to you every month on the same questions.

What does Nomadic deliver at the start of a GEO for fintech project?

After the first measurement, Nomadic delivers your mention rate and link rate on each AI engine, question by question; the fintech companies and comparison sites AI recommends instead of you; the sources it uses to answer about your category and a prioritized plan of what to change on and off your site.

How long does it take to see a change?

It depends on each AI engine and how long it takes to read your pages again. That is why Nomadic repeats the same measurement every month: you see on which AI engine and on which questions your mention rate and link rate moved.

Does Nomadic work with fintech companies in other Latin American countries?

Yes. Nomadic builds the question set for each country where you operate and measures the answers in that market. Its Top of AI study covers shopping searches in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Chile.
